Michael Sullivan, M.D.

Family Medicine

Dr. Michael Sullivan sees patients of all ages for preventive care, acute care and chronic illnesses.

He grew up in Peoria, Illinois, and attended college at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign before attending medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Dr. Sullivan joined Watertown Family Practice 17 years ago and has spent his entire career caring for the Watertown community.

Dr. Sullivan takes a comfortable and conversational approach to care, with his down-to-earth personality and straight-talking style that builds rapport with patients. He supports his patients in taking an active role in their healing, guiding them in navigating their own journey to health.

His goal is to prevent disease – as opposed to just treating it – by stressing the importance of immunizations, screenings, healthy eating, exercise, and stress management.

Dr. Sullivan sits on the Board of Directors of The Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation (GWCHF) and has served as Vice Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff on the Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC) Medical Executive Committee. He previously served on the WRMC Board of Directors and as a provider at the Watertown Area Cares Clinic. He is a current member of the Tour da Goose Planning Committee, a bike ride to support the Rock River Community Clinic, and serves on the YMCA Capital Campaign Committee.

Dr. Sullivan lives in Watertown with his wife and two teenage children. He enjoys downhill skiing, bicycling and pontoon boating.
